Jean Pail Whitehill – Hanover Township

Jean Pail Whitehill left this world on Wednesday morning, June 27, 2018, to go to her eternal home to see Jesus face to face.  She was a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Ockla Mae (Giles) Pail, and wife of the late James A. Whitehill who died October 9, 2000.

She is survived by her children, Alvin D. and Debbie Whitehill, Georgetown; James D. and Sharon Whitehill, Florida; Thomas J. and Mary Whitehill, Quarryville, Pa.; Brenda and John Petkunas, Georgetown, with whom she resided; and Bonnie and Joseph Genre, Harmony Twp.  Also surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph Jr. and Joan Pail, New Sewickley Twp.; a late sister and brother-in-law, Marian and Floyd Eiler; grandmother of eight, Robert, Christopher, and Thomas Whitehill, Alex Genre, Julia Whitehill, Katie and Maddie Genre and the late Rebecca Dawn Black; four great-grandchildren, Evan and Chance Whitehill, Rachel Black, and Riley Whitehill; and several nieces and nephews.

She was a graduate of Rochester High School, class of 1943.  She was a former employee of G.C. Murphy Co., Rochester, and Westinghouse, Beaver, before marrying her husband James in 1949 who was a dairy farmer in Georgetown, where she spent most of her time on the farm.  She enjoyed gardening and crocheting and attended the Community Bible Church of Aliquippa. 

Family and friends are welcome to call on Friday  from 4 to 8 p.m. at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine Street, Hookstown, PA  15050. Family and friends are asked to meet at the Community Bible Church, 4549 Route 151, Aliquippa, PA 15001, where her services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m.  The Rev. Paul Treese and Robert Kern will officiate.  She will be laid to rest in the Mill Creek Cemetery, Georgetown.

Donations in her name may be made to Community Bible Church or Pleasant Hill Wesleyan Church.

The family would like to thank Laura and Dee of the Mother Theresa Hospice for the care and compassion shown their mother and the family.
