Janice Bell (Rogers) Kiss – WEIRTON, WV (FORMERLY OF SHIPPINGPORT)
Janice Bell (Rogers) Kiss, 83, of Weirton, WV, formerly of Shippingport, died Saturday, March 22, 2014, at The Carriage Inn of Steubenville with her family at her side.
Born Jan. 22, 1931 in Midland, she was the daughter of the late Velma Knowles Rogers and Walter Lee Rogers.
She was married Dec. 24, 1948, to Richard A. Kiss, who preceded her in death on Sept. 1, 2000. She also was preceded in death by an infant son, Andrew Wayne Kiss; three brothers, William, Floyd and Walter Rogers and five sisters, Agnes Rogers Jones, Velma Rogers Clayton, Catherine Rogers Burgess, Gladys Rogers Littell and Constance Rogers Allison Bruce.
She was a Christian and active in her church, devoted to her faith. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, playing games and helping them with their homework. She also had been a member of the Shippingport VFW Women’s Auxiliary.
Surviving are her daughter, Betty Jean (Robert) Ryan of Weirton, WV; three sons, Mark (Deborah) Kiss and Brian (Robin) Kiss, both of Aliquippa, and John (Jamie) Kiss of Shippingport; a stepson, Richard (Elaine) Kiss of Murrieta, CA; 10 grandchildren, Robert (Ave) Ryan, Paul Ryan, Christina Ryan Lauck, Shelley (Matthew) McGeary, Julie Kiss, Ashley Kiss, Brian Kiss, Joel (Melissa) Kiss, Stephanie Kiss and Jacob Kiss; 10 great-grandchildren, Brandon and Megan Lauck, Andrew and Natalie Ryan, Brayden Ryan, Ethan Fischer, Taylor and Mason McGeary, and Troy and Miah Kiss; two sisters-in-law, Hilda Rogers of East Liverpool, OH, and Erma Slopek of Burgettstown, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050, Daniel M. McConnell, Owner-Director, where a service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Barry Bullman officiating. Burial will be in Mill Creek Cemetery, Hookstown.
