James M. “Picker” Shutt – Georgetown

James M. “Picker” Shutt, 77, of Georgetown, passed, Sunday, March 5, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver. Born December 21, 1945, in Garrett, Indiana, he was the son of the late Edward and Shirley Woodcock Shutt.

He was a graduate of Garrett High School in Indiana, Class of 1964. Jim retired from Miller Brothers Trucking Company where he dedicated numerous years as a truck driver.

He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need and had a wealth of knowledge when it came to fixing anything mechanical. He could often be found repairing or tinkering with tractors in his garage and always believed in fixing things himself. Jim was active in the Hookstown Fair, local 4H Club, Stockman Club and Hookstown Grange. He was a co-founder of Chapter 16 International Club and served as President for many years. Jim also served as former Vice President and Director of the National International Collectors Club. He served as a charter member for Beaver Valley Antique Equipment and Craft Association for 34 years. Jim announced parades and knew more history about people and tractors than anyone else.

In 2019 Jim was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Kaye Shutt, they married on April 23, 1967. He was also preceded in death by his 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

Jim is survived by his brother, Robert Shutt and numerous nieces and nephews.
