James L. Doughty – GEORGETOWN (GREENE TWP.)

James L. Doughty, 82, of Georgetown (Greene Twp.), died in the comfort of his home on Saturday evening, April 8, 2017, with family at his side.

Born April 22, 1934, in Candor, Pa., he was a son of the late Walter V. and Lila V. (Griffith) Doughty. He retired having worked as a steelworker at LTV Aliquippa for 30 years and was a mail carrier until retirement in Georgetown. He was a longtime and faithful member of the Georgetown United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Anna Jane (Baker) Doughty; children, James L. Doughty, Jr., Georgetown; Lila A. and Robert Ostrander, Saltsburg and Mary J. and Charles Bogart, Salineville, Ohio; brother of Harry “Dutch” Doughty, Ellwood City; Joy Galicic, Hookstown; JoAnn Stewart, Chester; Janet Nusser, N.C. and the late Paul and Rollo Doughty; grandfather of three, great-grandfather of three and grandfather of the late Bobby J. Ostrander.

Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at 11 a.m. with his pastor, the Rev. Williard C. Adkins of the Georgetown United Methodist Church officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Georgetown.
