James E. Noss – Hanover Township

On this day, September 2, 2019, my best friend and husband, James E. Noss passed away. He received his wings this morning. Today would have been his 77th birthday.

Jim married his wife, Ellen (Gereg) Noss, 57 years ago. They raised four daughters, Vicky Haberman (Jim), Kimmy Ware (Keith), Ronni Lynn Floyd (David), and Kelly Seiber (Ernie), and a son, James “Bud” Noss (Patricia), 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Irene (Kircher) Noss, and a brother, David.

Jim worked for the painters and decorators out of Pittsburgh for 36 years, Local Union 6. In 1976, he started a Hereford beef farm also raising grains in Hanover Twp. He loved working the land. Tractor pulling with his son among other hobbies was his favorite and all his tractor buddies will remember his International tractor.

Jim also leaves behind three sisters, Elizabeth, Alice and Linda and a brother, Ron.

Jim was a soft spoken, gentle man that loved his family beyond words and our hearts are broken. Rest in peace sweetie!

Family and friends are welcome to call at MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine Street, Hookstown, PA 15050, Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be private. He will be laid to rest in Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church, Cemetery.
