Jack H. Potts – HONEYBROOK, PA (FORMERLY OF HOOKSTOWN)
Jack H. Potts, 80, of Honeybrook, PA, formerly of Hookstown, died Saturday afternoon, January 12, 2013, at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center, Narvon, Pa., after a brief illness.
Born February 5, 1932, in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was a son of the late Howard C. and Wilda E. (Boyd) Potts. Jack was a retired heavy equipment operator having worked for Dravo Corp. and Georgetown Sand and Gravel. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local #66, a founding and lifetime member of the Hookstown VFD and also a member of the Hookstown Free Methodist Church. He had attended the Hookstown one room school.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Betty J. (Freeman) Potts on March 25, 2005 and a brother, Homer Potts.
Surviving are his daughters and their husbands, Mary (Marty) Bogsch of Coatsville, PA; Janice (Mike) Connors of Goose Creek, SC and Susan (Daniel) Ward of Honeybrook, PA; a brother, Milton J. Potts of Hookstown and his beloved grandchildren, Matt Carrico of Conshohocken, PA; Stefanie Bogsch of Coatsville, PA and Rachael and Joshua Ward of Honeybrook, PA.
Family and friends are welcome to call in the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine Street, Hookstown, PA 15050, Daniel M. McConnell, Owner/Director, on Saturday, January 19, 2013, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Jim McMasters will officiate.
He will be laid to rest beside his late wife, Betty, in the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Georgetown.
Jack will be missed by the many friends, acquaintances and caregivers made while living in the Honeybrook area. The family would like to extend a special thanks to those from Tel Hai Adult Day Program, Rover Community Transportation and Nancy, Helen and Cathy of Relative Care.
