Howard Trimble – GEORGETOWN

Howard R. Trimble, 87, a lifelong resident of Georgetown, died Thursday morning, August 15, 2013, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by family.

Born July 30, 1926, in Georgetown, he was the last surviving son born to the late Emmit and Esther (Mackall) Trimble. Mr. Trimble had worked as a pipe fitter at Crucible Steel, retiring in 1982. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served as a sergeant during World War II. He was a member and past commander of the Hookstown American Legion and had been a member of St. Luke Episcopal Church, Georgetown. He enjoyed being outside, cutting grass and golfing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Hazel Ruth (Dean) Trimble, on October 7, 2012; an infant son, Robert Trimble, and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Frances Trimble, and William and Audrey Trimble.

Surviving are his children and their spouses, Dave (Karen) Trimble, Georgetown; Debbie (James) Watson, Darlington; Steve (Rhonda) Trimble, Calcutta, OH, and Jeff (Essie) Trimble, Raccoon Township. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Friends and family are welcome to call Sunday from 12 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050, Daniel M. McConnell, Owner-Director, where services will be held Monday at 12:30 p.m. with Tom Lombard officiating.

Interment will follow in Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens, Newell, WV.
