Howard Bailes – GEORGETOWN
Howard Bailes, 79, of Georgetown (Greene Twp.), died Monday morning, March 19, 2012 at Heritage Valley Beaver.
Born September 19, 1932, in Rochester, he was a son of the later Luther and Marjorie (Morgan) Bailes. He was a retired steelworker for the former Teledyne (Pittsburgh Steel, Tool and Wire). He was a very active member of the Free Methodist Church primarily working with the youth. He was also a retired lay minister and enjoyed farming. He was always ready to share the Bible with anybody and everybody or to pray with them.
Surviving are his children and their spouses, Sheila (Dan) Daellenbach, Georgetown, Debbie (Chico) Teter, Georgetown, Samuel (Heather) Bailes, Wellsville, OH and Sandy (Tom) Smearman, New Cumberland and a sister-in-law, Mary Bailes, Titusville. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Lee (Rambo) Bailes, in March 2006, and a brother, Frank Bailes.
Friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine Street, Hookstown, PA 15050, Daniel M. McConnell, Owner-Director, today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Everyone is to meet at the Hookstown Free Methodist Church on Friday, March 23, 2012, where his services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Wilmer Olszewski and Rev. Mark Hunt officiating.
Private interment will follow in the Hookstown Cemetery.
