H. Duane Beal – HOOKSTOWN (GREENE TWP.)
H. Duane Beal, 81, of Hookstown (Greene Twp.), died Tuesday evening, July 26, 2016, at Allegheny General Hospital, surrounded by his family. A loving husband, dad and pap . . . a loving person, loved his family and the outdoors greatly.
Born November 21, 1934, in Hanover Twp., he was the last surviving child born to the late John Herman and Clara (Swearingen) Beal. He was a retired steelworker with J&L, Aliquippa Works, and was a member of the Green Valley United Methodist Church, Shippingport.
Surviving is the greatest love of his life, Nellie B. (Ewing) Beal. The couple was married on June 3, 1955, having just celebrated 61 years of marriage. Also surviving are his children and their spouses, Cindy and Chip Flaim, Hookstown; Duane “Duke” Beal, New Manchester, WV; John and Shelly Beal, Hookstown, and Rick and Darla Beal, East Palestine, OH; 14 beloved grandchildren and eight beloved great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Beal, and three sisters, Ruth Armstrong, Dorothy Stewart and Jean Inhoff.
Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Everyone is asked to meet at the Green Valley United Methodist Church, Shippingport, on Saturday where his services will be held at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Susan Pickering officiating.
He will be laid to rest in Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Georgetown.
