Georges Delourmel – East Liverpool, Ohio (Formerly of Hookstown)

Georges Delourmel, 91, of East Liverpool, Ohio (formerly of Hookstown), died Monday afternoon, January 22, 2018, at the Salem Regional Medical Center.

Born October 24, 1926, in St. Germain Le Vasson, France, he was a son of the late Eugene and Cecil (Carreres) Delourmel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Madeleine Rolande (Motelay) Delourmel, on January 22, 2000. Also predeceased are two brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Delourmel had immigrated to America in 1952 with his wife and two children. He was a veteran of the French Navy, serving during World War II. He worked as an instrument and control tech with Crucible Steel in the titanium department, having worked there for 30 years. He was a member of the Gold Rush Outlaws Square Dancing Group of Independence Twp., and had started with the Jamie Jammers Square Dancing Group in Rochester. He was the past owner of the G&M Store in Hookstown and had also served as a former Hookstown Councilman.

Surviving are his children and their spouses, Chantal and Sam Doughty, Lisbon, Ohio; Gigi and Jeep McMichael, Sigel, Pa., and Georges and Tina Delourmel, Clinton; grandfather of nine; great-grandfather of 23; and great-great-grandfather of two.

Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. where services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Kevin Neal of the Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church.

He will be laid to rest in the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Georgetown.
