Gale G. Pence – ALIQUIPPA (RACCOON TWP.)

Gale G. Pence, 79, of Aliquippa (Raccoon Township), died Thursday afternoon, May 28, 2015, in Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver, with his family at his side.

Born Dec. 22, 1935, in Rochester he was a son of the late William E. and Ethel (Weber) Pence. He was a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served two tours in Vietnam which he loved sharing stories about, enjoyed Bluegrass music, fishing, garage sales, recycling, mowing grass and attending Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church. Gale took pride in keeping an immaculate garage.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, LaVern (Douglas) Pence; the couple were wed May 6, 1955. He is the greatest dad of David A. and his wife, Lynn Pence, Zelienople; Karla G. and her husband, Ed Jestat, Raccoon Twp.; brother and his wife, Richard and Nancy Pence, Pymatuning; greatest pap of Stephanie (Mike) DeMarco, Joshua (Jessica) Magnone, Breanna Jestat and her companion, Anthony Venanzio; greatest great-pap of Keaton Michalski, Gemma DeMarco, Maximus Venanzio, and Clayton Magnone.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a twin brother, Dale and his late wife, Martha Pence.

Family and friends are welcome to call Sunday, May 31, 2015, in the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church, 846 Route 18, Aliquippa, PA  15001 from 2 p.m. until time of services at 3 p.m. His pastor, the Rev. Richard Herbster, will officiate.

Memorials, in his name, if desired, can be made to the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church.

Members of the Beaver County Special Unit are asked to meet at the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. for military honors.
