Gail Alton Cain – HOOKSTOWN

Gail Alton Cain, 92, of Cain Road, Hooks-town, Pa., a well known farmer in the area, died Friday afternoon, November 9, 2012, at the Orchards at Foxcrest in Chester, WV.  He was born on the Cain family farm in Shippingport, PA, on August 4, 1920.  He was the last surviving child born to the late Carey Michael and Elizabeth Ellen (Bambrick) Cain.

In addition to working as a farmer, he retired from the Arco Plant in Monaca and was a World War II veteran. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Ruth Mildren (Reed) Cain who died July 7, 2009; four brothers, Edward, Harold, Wilmer and Detmer Cain and three sisters, Beulah, Aletha Mae and Roxie Cain.

He is survived by two loving and caring daughters, Debra Gail Cain and Kathy Ann Cain Laurenza, both of Hookstown; a brother-in-law, and his wife, William and Doris Reed, Beaver Falls; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Betty (Wilmer) Cain, Georgetown and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are welcome to call today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine Street, Hookstown, PA  15050, Daniel M. McConnell, Owner/Director, where services will be held Monday, November 12, 2012, at 11 a.m., the Rev. Wilmer J. Olszewski, of the Hookstown Free Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Georgetown.
