Emma F. (Jimmy) Moore – GEORGETOWN

Emma F. (Jimmy) Moore, 96, a lifelong resident of Georgetown, died peacefully Monday evening, September 2, 2013, at Fox's Stone Pear Pavilion, Chester, WV.

Born March 22, 1917, in Georgetown, she was the last surviving child born to the late Thomas L. and Mary (Pugh) Mackall. A homemaker, Mrs. Moore was a member of the Mill Creek United Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder, deacon and Sunday school teacher. An avid seamstress, she was a member of the Stitch and Chatter Club and the South Side Area Senior Citizens. She was famous for her pie making and working in the cafeteria at the Hookstown Fair, and she loved being around her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Kerr Moore, on March 9, 1994. The couple were married May 15, 1946.

Surviving are her children and their spouses, Thomas and Linda Moore of Hookstown, Samuel and Barbara Moore of Grand Rapids, MI, and Susan and J. Thomas Rosenthal, M.D. of Santa Monica, CA; six grandchildren, Melissa and her husband Joseph Cain III, Thomas Jr. and his wife Heather Moore, Bethany and her husband Matthew Gerard, Frank and his wife Emily Moore, Abigail Rosenthal and Samuel Rosenthal, and three great-grandchildren, Sarah and Isabella Cain, and Natalie Gerard.

Friends are welcome to call Saturday, September 7, 2013, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050, Daniel M. McConnell, Owner-Director. Her pastor, the Rev. Nathan Weller, of the Mill Creek United Presbyterian Church, will officiate.

Her cremains will be laid to rest beside her late husband in the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at Fox's Pepper Berry Suites and the Stone Pear Pavilion, along with the staff of Valley Hospice, for the kind and gentle care given their mother.
