Elsie M. McElhaney – HOOKSTOWN

Elsie M. McElhaney, 95, of Hookstown, died Thursday morning, March 1, 2012, at Fox's Stone Pear Pavilion, Chester, WV.

Born April 2, 1916, in Aliquippa, she was the last surviving child born to the late Earl and Harriet Mae (Hayward) Moore. A homemaker, Mrs. McElhaney was a member of the Mill Creek United Presbyterian Church of Hookstown, and a member of the Women's Association of her church, where she also served as a Sunday school teacher and deacon. She was a 60 plus year member of the Hookstown Grange, a member of the Beaver County Pomona Grange No. 66, and the South Side Senior Citizens group.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W. Gregg McElhaney, and her brothers, Harry and his late wife Hazel Moore, Jim Moore, Taylor and his late wife Ruth Rhodes, and Guy Moore.

Surviving are her children and their spouses, Donald (Mary Lee) McElhaney, Hookstown; Evelyn (late Ted) Telesz, Raccoon Township; William G. Jr. (Deborah) McElhaney, Hookstown, and Harry (Kathy) McElhaney, Aliquippa; her sisters-in-law, Doris Moore of Indiana and Dolores Moore Searight of Aliquippa; nine grandchildren, Teddy Jr., Thomas and David Telesz, Suann Johnson, Cindy Palmer, Beth Parrish, Mike McElhaney, and Rayann and Jim McElhaney, and also 11 great-grandchildren,

Friends are welcome to call at the McCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, Daniel M. McConnell, Owner-Director, today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Everyone is asked to meet at the Mill Creek U.P. Church, 5005 Route 151, Hookstown, PA 15050, on Monday, March 5, 2012, where additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of her services at 11 a.m. Her pastor, the Rev. Nathan Weller, will officiate.

Interment will follow in Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Georgetown.

Memorials in her name may be made to the Mill Creek United Presbyterian Church or the Hookstown Grange.
