Dorothea Evelyn (Crago) Keifer – CLINTON (HANOVER TWP.)

Dorothea Evelyn (Crago) Keifer, 86, of Clinton (Hanover Twp.), died Saturday afternoon, March 12, 2016, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease at the Parkside Health Care Center, Columbiana, Ohio.

Born September 27, 1929, in New Cumberland, West Virginia, she was the last surviving child born to the late Charles Cooper and Esther (Wylie) Crago. A homemaker and avid quilter, Dorothea was also a member of the Community Bible Church, Aliquippa.

In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by three brothers, Raymond, Melvin and Wesley Crago and two sisters, Bernice Hummell and Eleanor Stevens.

Surviving are her husband of 68 years, John Audley Keifer, the couple married on April 29, 1947; a son and daughter-in-law, Leonard and Cathy Keifer, and two daughters and a son-in-law, Darlene and Elbert Allison and Estelle Keifer.  Also surviving are her four grandchildren, Richard Thomas, Dorothy Rippee, Gwenn Reed and Carl Keifer and ten great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050, Daniel M. McConnell, Owner-Director, on Friday, March 18, from 2 to 4 p.m. from where her memorial service will be held at 4 p.m.  Her pastor, Pastor Robert Kern of the Community Bible Church, will officiate. She will be laid to rest in the Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Burgettstown.

The family would like to thank the staff at Parkside Health Care Center for their care and compassion during Dorothea’s stay.
