Donna L. Brown – Hookstown (Hanover TWP.)
Donna L. Brown, 80, of Hookstown (Hanover TWP.) passed peacefully Friday morning July 2, 2021, in the comfort of her home surrounded by the love of her family.
Born October 20, 1940, in Replete, W.V., she was a daughter of the late Cecil J. and Vada P. (Crowe) Gibson. A domestic engineer all her life, she also belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hanover VFD where she was also a volunteer firefighter and a first responder for Hanover ambulance service. She enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter, she especially enjoyed the time spent with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Bacil R. Brown on November 4, 2018, two brothers Ton and John Gibson and two sisters June McCoy and Opal Beer.
She is survived by her daughters and sons in laws, Vonda (Michael) Simko of Bulger, Teresa (Kevin) Senile of Ohio, Lori Brown Vandine of Georgetown and Bettina (Earl) ‘Gink” Dye of Hookstown. Sister of Cecil and Bradley Gibson both of Ohio and Edith Clifton of West Virginia, her eight grandchildren survive, they are Heather, Rebecca, Shannon, Robert, Thaddaeus, Lorren, Candice and Dustin, she was also the great grandmother of 12 and one on the way.
Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, Pa. 15050, on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Friends and family will meet Tuesday at the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery for a graveside service at 11 am, the Rev. Paul Treese will officiate.
