Donald Leroy Plance – GEORGETOWN (HANOVER TWP.)

Donald Leroy Plance, 92, of Georgetown (Hanover Twp.), died Thursday morning, April 26, 2012 in the comfort of his home with family at his side. 

Born March 24, 1920, in Burgettstown, he was a son of the late Lee and Margaret (Work) Plance.  Mr. Plance was a retired laborer in the construction trade and was a member of Laborers International Union of North America #833.  A veteran of World War II, he served in the US Army as a PFC.  He was a member of the Hookstown American Legion.

Surviving are his wife, Ethel Pauline (Robertson) Plance; his children and their spouses, Donald (Harriet) Plance, Georgetown, James (Susan) Plance, Georgetown, Rose Brown, South Carolina, David (Romona) Plance, New York, Richard Plance, Georgetown, Kenneth (Barbara) Plance, Indiana, Dixie Koerbel, Georgetown and the late Patricia Simmons.  Also surviving are his sisters, Virginia Lawrence, Texas and Betty Mason, Virginia.  Twenty-nine grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren also survive. 

Friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050, on Sunday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 2 p.m.  Interment will follow in Robison Cemetery, Bulger.
