Charles W. McAfee – Georgetown (Hanover Twp.)

Charles W. McAfee, 69 of Georgetown (Hanover Twp.) died Sunday morning September 8, 2019 in the comfort of his home with family at his side. Born June 19, 1950 in Steubenville, Ohio, he was a son of the late Roland and Grace (Glass) McAfee. Charles had worked as a laborer with Laborers Union # 833 of New Brighton and at Service Master in Coraopolis in the janitorial dept.. He was a member of the Frankfort Grange, loved farming, deer hunting and in his younger days loved square dancing. He loved watching his grandsons baseball games. Spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren is what brought him the most joy.

Surviving is his wife of 47 years Cathy (Smitsky) McAfee, the couple would of celebrated 48 years of marriage on September 18th. Father of Mary Brown & her fiancé Mario Bencon, Jody (Doug) Sargent, Charles “Bummer” McAfee Jr. and Brittany (Robert) Dolan all of Georgetown and the late infant daughter Charlotte Lynn McAfee. Brother of Roland (Joy) McAfee and Debbie (Michael) O’Brien all of Georgetown, grandfather of 5 Robert Brown, Victoria Brown, Cody Sargent and his girlfriend Makayla Vance, Jake Sargent, and Douglas Jr. (Alicia) Sargent. Great grandfather of Dillon Dolan, Jaylynn Dolan, Lorrina Brown and Marlee Sargent.

Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050 on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm where his services will be held Wednesday at 11 am. The Rev. Wilmer J. Olszewski of the Hookstown Free Methodist Church will officiate. He will be laid to rest in the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Georgetown.
