Charles W. Garren – GEORGETOWN (HANOVER TWP.)

Charles W. Garren, 88, of Georgetown (Hanover Twp.) died Sunday morning, June 18, 2017, in the comfort of his home.

Born November 18, 1928, in Imperial, he was a son of the late James and Marie (Pape) Garren. He was a retired laborer of over 30 years having worked for Duquesne Slag and after retirement from there he went on to work for Ryan Homes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Columbia E. (Moralla) Garren, on May 31, 2016; two brothers, James Garren and Henry Baker; three sisters, Shirley Spiker, Agnes Baker and Mary Pape.

He is survived by his children, Rosemary Gallie, Debbie and Ray LeFever, Susy and John Halligan, Paul Gallie, Robin Herbold and Kenny Quinn; a sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and Dave Williams; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050, on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Services are private and Cremation will take place. He will be laid to rest at Mill Creek Hill Cemetery.
