Charles J. LaRue Jr. – HOOKSTOWN
Charles J. LaRue Jr., 80, of Hooks-town, died Thursday evening, Jan. 3, 2013, with his wife at his side in the West Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center, Moon Township.
Born June 12, 1932, in Monaca, a son of the late Charles J. Sr. and Jeanette (Rounds) LaRue, he had retired from Arco Polymers as a maintenance supervisor. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Marines as a sergeant. He loved fishing, carpentry work and was an avid Steels fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William LaRue.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary B. (Melvin) LaRue; his children, Charles J. LaRue, III, Neville Island; Barbara Frazier, Texas; William LaRue, Cleveland; Shirley Yeager, Florida; Richard LaRue, North Carolina; and Gregory LaRue, Maryland; six sisters, Betty Tucker, Evelyn Clark, Patty Shafer, Nancy Faldowski, Carol Brown and Margie Campbell, all of Ohio; 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are welcome to call at the McCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine Street, Hookstown, PA 15050, Daniel M. McConnell, Owner/Director, on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. where a service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Wilmer J. Olszewski of the Hookstown Free Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment with full military honors will follow in the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Georgetown.
Members of the Beaver County Special Unit please meet at the cemetery on Monday by 11:45 a.m.
