Carol Lea ‘Kay’ Nusser – Georgetown (Greene Twp.)

Carol Lea ‘Kay’ Nusser, 83, Georgetown (Greene Twp.) died peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday afternoon, October 3, 2018.

Born June 30, 1935, in New Cumberland, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Syres Ellwood and Eva Gertrude (Mikeals) Stewart. Along with being a homemaker, she was employed by the South Side Elementary School working in the maintenance department. She was a member of the Hookstown Free Methodist Church, and enjoyed traveling with her sisters, canning, and her family; she lived for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving is her husband of 65 years, David “Sonny” Nusser, whom she married April 20, 1953; her children and spouses, David and Cathy Nusser, Georgetown; Steve and Lisa Nusser, Arizona; Sharon and John Vinci, Georgetown; and Dale Nusser and Ron Eddy, Georgetown; brother of Skip and Esther Stewart, Tennessee; Doris “Peg” and her late husband, Roy Johnson, Rogers, Ohio; Neva “Joy” and the late Buzz Green, Lisbon, Ohio; and Patty Stewart, Canton, Ohio; six grandchildren, Stephanie and John Coker, Steven and Molly Nusser, Jenny and Brandon Gianella, Cassie and Snook Hill, Joshua and Katie Fuller, and Mark and Lydia Fuller; and great-grandmother of ten.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Roy and Pearl Stewart and Pete and Dorothy Stewart; and her sisters, Betty and Gilbert Allison and Hazel and Zeke Torrence.

Visitation is Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. at MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine Street, Hookstown, PA 15050. Additional visitation at the Hookstown Free Methodist Church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Wilmer J. Olszewski officiating.

She will be laid to rest in the Mill Creek Cemetery, Georgetown.
