Bette Lea Senile – GEORGETOWN (HANOVER TWP.)

Bette Lea Senile, 85, of Georgetown (Hanover Twp.) died peacefully in the comfort of her husband’s arms of 68 years in the couple’s Hanover Twp. home on Tuesday afternoon, March 4, 2014.

Born August 8, 1928, in West Union, WV, a daughter of the late Claude and Lenora (Cox) Travis, she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Christian Church of New Cumberland, WV, and the New Cumberland Panhandle Piecemakers Quilting Club.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond C. Senile. The couple were married Jan. 8, 1946. Also survived by six daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and her husband, Mike Griffith, Arkansas; Susan and her husband, David Jarrup, Georgetown; Nancy and her husband, Jeff Weber, Ohio; Anita and her husband, Marc Webster, West Virginia; Karen and her husband, George Poloka, Pittsburgh, and Donna and her husband, Jeff Clarke, Florida. Also surviving is a brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and his wife, Pat Travis, West Virginia; a sister-in-law, Edwina Travis, West Virginia; 16 grandchildren, Michael Willson, Neal Griffith and the late Melisa Willson, Bryan (Emily) Jarrup, Nathan (Sandy) Jarrup, Christan (Dean) Leonard, Joe (Emily) Jarrup, Aaron (Marveen) Adams, Sean (Stephanie) Adams, Ryan Weber, Kiersten Weber,  Ashli Webster, Amy Webster, Bradyn Clarke, Brody Clarke and Chloe Clarke, and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Burl Travis.

Family and friends are welcome to call Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in  the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050, Daniel M. McConnell, Owner-Director, where services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Rick Tinsky, of the Christian Church of New Cumberland, WV, will officiate.

She will be laid to rest in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton, WV.

Memorials, if desired, may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
