Bacil R. Brown – Hookstown (Hanover Twp.)

Bacil R. Brown, 81, of Hookstown (Hanover Twp.), died unexpectedly on Sunday afternoon, November 4, 2018, in his Hookstown home.

Born January 28, 1937, in Wheeler, W.Va., he was a son of the late Harry W. and Retha (Collins) Brown. He was a retired steelworker, a lifetime member of the South Side Sportsman’s Club, a member of the Hanover Twp. VFD since 1975. Bacil loved the great outdoors and was an avid hunter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Myers, Ellen Gibson, Martha Joy Allison and Hazel Ruth Moats.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Donna L. (Gibson) Brown, whom he married May 27, 1960; his daughters and their spouses, Vonda (Michael) Simko, Bulger; Teresa (Kevin) Senile, Fairfield, Ohio; Lori Brown Vandine, Georgetown and Bettina (Earl ‘Gink’) Dye, Hookstown; his siblings, Pearl (Ray) Jordan, Hookstown; Rex Brown, West Virginia and Joseph Brown, New York; grandfather of eight, Heather, Rebecca, Shannon, Robert, Thaddaeus, Lorren, Candice and Dustin; and great-grandfather of 12.

Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050, on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. only. Everyone is asked to meet at the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Rt# 168, Georgetown, PA 15043, where a graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday. The Rev. Paul Treese will officiate.
