Louis V. George II – Aliquippa (Hopewell Twp.)

Louis V. George II, 82 of Aliquippa (Hopewell Twp.) passed Sunday evening, November 19, 2023 at the Allegheny General Hospital; Pittsburgh. Born July 10, 1941 in Sugar Creek, Pa. He was a son of the late Louis V. George I and Thelma Geneva (Owens) George. Louis was a United States Navy Corpsman Retired, a graduate of Quaker Valley High School, class of 1961, his biggest joy was spending time with his family, reading his bible and building lego models.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou George in 1999 and a sister Elaine. Continue reading

Kami Lynn Brooks – East Liverpool

Kami Lynn Brooks, 60 of East Liverpool passed Thursday afternoon November 16,2023 at East Liverpool City Hospital. Born September 9, 1963 in Aliquippa, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Joseph and Shirley Ann (Brown) Brooks.

Kami had worked in Technology Security in the Banking industry. She is survived by a brother Christopher Brooks and her sisters Susan Vistein and Jennifer Brown. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

No services are planned and cremation will take place. Professional services provided by the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA. 15050.

Mary Ann Janke – Hookstown (Greene Twp.)

Mary Ann Janke, 93 of Hookstown (Greene Twp.) passed Thursday evening, November 16, 2023 at Brighton Rehab and Wellness Center. Born August 1, 1930 in Chester, West Virginia, she was the last surviving child born to the late Robert and Nellie Margarette (McDonald) Johnson. A homemaker, Mary enjoyed gardening and sewing and had belonged to Service Creek U.P. Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Alvin Janke in 1997, brothers and sisters in laws Robert and Charlotte Johnson, Sidney and Ginn Johnson James “Bruce” and Mary Lou Johnson, and a sister and brother-in-law Eva Jane and Dale Torrence.

Surviving are her children and their spouses, Chris (Frances Ann Veal) Janke and Cindy K. and John Davis. Grandmother of seven, great grandmother of eight, and great great grandmother of one. Continue reading

Robert John “Bob” McCoy, Jr. – Georgetown (Hanover Twp.)

Robert John “Bob” McCoy, Jr., 71, of Georgetown (Hanover Twp.) passed away on Wednesday evening, November 8, 2023 of PSP with his family at his side. Born April 27, 1952, in Sewickley, PA, he was the son of R. John McCoy and the late Mary (Inglefield) McCoy.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Deborah (Beal) McCoy, and his children and their spouses, Erin and Michael Patterson and Ryan and Jessica McCoy. He was “Pap Bob” to 5 grandchildren who he was so proud of: Sarah, Hannah, and David Patterson and Liam and Genevieve McCoy.

He is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Dennis and Judith McCoy, Raymond and Maria McCoy, Marsha and John Andzans, and Beverly and Jimmy Reed. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Lillah Beal and a sister-in-law and her husband, Pam and Paul Davidson. He was an uncle to 7 nieces and nephews. Continue reading

Sheila K. Collins, 76 of Georgetown (Greene Twp.) passed Friday afternoon, November 3, 2023 at Heritage Valley Sewickley with her children at her side. Born June 10, 1947 in Steubenville, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Wade and Eleanor (Stephens) Rider.

She was also preceded in death by her husband Richard Collins and her brother Thomas Rider.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Thomas (Nikki) Littell, Tracia (Robert) Hoffmaster, Tyra (Brandon) Barish and her stepson Ron (Trudy) Collins. Barbara Jean Goodman – Georgetown (Hanover Twp.)

Barbara Jean Goodman, 93, of Georgetown (Hanover Twp.) passed peacefully Friday morning October 27, 2023 at Heritage Valley Beaver in the arms of her daughter Mabel. Born March 14, 1930 in Mannington, West Virginia. She was the last remaining daughter born to the late James and Mabel (Hayes) Gill.

A homemaker, Barbara loved to crochet and cook. And loved nothing more than when her house was full of family on Sundays. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 73 years Claude B. Goodman on July 17, 2020, her sisters Florence Baldwin, Wilma Paytors and Eva West. John W. “Jack” Floyd – Monaca (formerly of Hookstown)

John W. “Jack” Floyd, 84 of Monaca, formerly of Hookstown, passed Thursday afternoon October 19, 2023 at UPMC-Passavant. Born April 25, 1939 in East Liverpool, Ohio. He was a son of the late Leland G. and Edith E. (Leister) Floyd. Jack retired from ARCO Chemical where he had worked as a Chemical Reactor Operator.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Judy E. (Hineman) Floyd, a son and daughter-in-law Michael and Norma Floyd, his brothers Donald and ( Sonia) Floyd, David and (Ronni) Floyd, sisters Jean and (Lee) Stewart, Joann and (Harry) Lang and Kay and (Robert) Seymore, his sisters-in-laws Jorjann Floyd, Doris Floyd and Kathleen Floyd and a brother-in-law Jack Yurcina. Born July 22, 1949 in Buffalo, New York, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth Walter and Louella Mae (Pearce) Hinderliter. In addition to being a home maker, Carol had worked as a Medical Billing Specialist in the healthcare industry.

Blanche M. Mueller, 81 of Baden passed Sunday afternoon, September 17, 2023 at Brighton Rehabilitation & Wellness Center; Brighton Twp. Born February 25, 1942 in Aliquippa, she was a daughter of the late David Henry & Etta Mae (Barker) Hughes, Sr. A homemaker, Blanche had also worked at Phoenix Glass in Monaca for many years as Q & A inspector.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Richard J. Mueller on February 21, 2021. Brothers David H. Hughes, Jr. & Harry W. Hughes and a sister Alice Patton. Reuben K. Blair – Georgetown

With sad and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved son and brother Reuben K. Blair, 62 of Georgetown. It happened suddenly on Monday evening, August 21, 2023 at Heritage Valley Beaver, E.R. Reuben was born April 29, 1961 in East Liverpool, Ohio. A son of Glenda Kay (Alger) Adams of Georgetown with whom he resided and the late Charles W. Blair.

Reuben was a proud graduate of South Side High School, he was an active volunteer with the Hookstown VFD for over 35 years, and he attended the Georgetown United Methodist Church. A man with a kind heart, he was a loyal friend and neighbor to many. He participated in countless parades and volunteered many years at the Hookstown Fair. Very proud of his heritage, Reuben was a direct descendant of veterans from the Revolutionary and Civil wars. He was also the proud owner of a 1989 Chevy Silverado and a John Deer tractor.
