Alex J Lizzi Sr, 94, of Summerville, SC, formerly of Freedom PA, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024 surrounded by his family. Born January 18, 1930, in Freedom, Alex was the son of the late Joseph and Nellie (Lodovico) Lizzi.

Alex was preceded in death by his wife Mary Anne (Emerick) Lizzi, his son John A. Lizzi, his brother James Lizzi and his mother and father. Continue reading

Bridget M. Schmidt – Aliquippa (Raccoon Twp.)

Bridget M. Schmidt, 78 of Aliquippa (Raccoon Twp.), passed peacefully Monday morning, April 15, 2024 in the comfort of her home with family at her side. Born May 1, 1945 in Aliquippa. She was the only child born to the late George and Magdelena (Kyc) Fetkovich.

In addition to being a homemaker, Bridget had also worked as a realtor in the Real Estate industry. Her biggest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She is the beloved wife of 58 years to Charles E. “Chuck” Schmidt, cherished mother of Chuck and his wife Brooke Schmidt Jr., Kirstin and her husband Stephen Pilotti and Scott and his wife Julie Schmidt. Her grandchildren are Lt. Tyler Schmidt, Samuel Schmidt, Nicholas Pilotti, Christian Pilotti, David Schmidt, Mark Schmidt and Jessica Schmidt and her fiancé Cory Lenzer. Continue reading

Frances Q. Peach – Hookstown

Frances Q. Peach, 77, of Hookstown, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024, in her home of over 50 years surrounded by her loving family.

Born on April 4, 1947, in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late James and Marie (Trevino) Quinn, Fran was a schoolteacher for over 30 years with the vast majority of that time being with the South Side School District. Fran loved to travel with her late husband taking motorhome trips all across the nation. Accompanying on these trips through the years were always her four-legged best friends who she adored.

Fran lived a life filled with love and kindness always wanting to be a support to others. She embodied a quiet yet unwavering strength that carried her through her diagnosis of Interstitial Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2014 and subsequent lung transplant in 2018. Continue reading

Robert G. Maier, 80 of Georgetown (Greene Twp.) passed peacefully Friday morning, April 12, 2024 in the comfort of his home with family at his side. Born June 18, 1943 in Pittsburgh. He was the son of the late George J. and Mary Elizabeth (O’Keefe) Maier. Bob had worked as a salesman in a variety of businesses, also a member of St. Blaise Catholic Church of Midland, the N.R.A. and the Mt. Nebo Grange in Sewickley and was a veteran serving in the US Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. Continue reading

Ronald L. Patton – Hookstown

Ronald L. Patton, 71 of Hookstown passed peacefully Monday evening, April 8, 2024 surrounded by the love of family and friends at the Weirton Medical Center, after a courageous hard fought battle with cancer. Born May 14, 1952 in Weirton, he was a son of the late Norman and Jaunita (Hall) Patton. Ron had worked as a diesel mechanic in the trucking industry and was a veteran having served in the US Army. A kind hearted man, he was known to help anyone in need and will be missed by all that knew him. He shared his love of classic cars with his grandsons and cousins Bruce and Brian Hall. He enjoyed restoring them along with John Deere Tractors. He also enjoyed car races and old John Wayne westerns. Continue reading

His passing was unexpected on Wednesday April 3, 2024 in Reno Texas. Born October 27, 1986 in Akron Ohio, a son of Michael Weekley and Liza & her late husband Bill Kozel. Celeste (Sally) Rohde-Ruth

Celeste (Sally) Rohde-Ruth, 95 passed Thursday afternoon, March 28, 2024 at Good Samaritan Beaver. Born December 27, 1928 in the Bloomfield section of Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Emil Adolph & Marcella Pauline (Winter) Rohde. She was a member of the South Side Senior’s group since 1989, making her a member for 37 years. She enjoyed tremendously being a volunteer in the Hanover Township VFD of which she was a member of their auxiliary for 15 years. Also thoroughly enjoyed working at the Hozak Christmas barn for 15 years.

Sally and her husband (Gerry) were married for 69 years at the time of his passing on September 14, 2016. Sally enjoyed being from Pittsburgh and also being from the “Rocks”. Continue reading

Terry Stout – Georgetown (Greene Twp)

Terry Stout, 64 of Georgetown (Greene Twp) passed unexpectedly on Monday Afternoon March 25, 2024 in the comfort of his home. Born September 23, 1959 in East Liverpool, Ohio. He was a son of the late Nathan Emmanuel and Geraldine Virginia (Blake) Stout. Terry had worked as a Cylinder filler and enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed drawing and was a member of the Hookstown Free Methodist church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Billy Joe Stout.

Surviving is his wife Cheryl A. (Bleigh) Stout, his children Stacie (Mike) Sprankle, Terry Stout, Jr. and a son by heart Calvin Michael. Brother of David (Carmen) Stout. Also surviving are his father-in-law Fred Bleigh and a brother-in-law Mark Bleigh. Continue reading

Jeffrey D. Trimble – East Liverpool, Ohio

Jeffrey D. Trimble, 67 of East Liverpool, Ohio, passed unexpectedly Sunday afternoon at the East Liverpool City Hospital. Born August 26, 1956 in East Liverpool, he was a son of the late Howard and Hazel (Dean) Trimble. A steel worker, Jeff had worked at J&L Steel in Midland, also a school bus driver for South Side School District. He was a Son of the Hookstown American Legion Post #952. He also loved to golf and hunt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother Robert Trimble.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Essie (Robes) Trimble, his daughters Christina Trimble and Ashley Trimble. Brother of Dave (Karen) Trimble, Steve (Rhonda) Trimble and Debbie (James) Watson, also numerous nieces and nephews survive. Continue reading

Roy Thomas Kramer – Hookstown

Roy Thomas Kramer, 93, of Hookstown, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 23, 2024.

He was born January 7, 1931 in the South Hills to the late George and Martha (Heaps) Kramer. Working on the family farm for his first 25 years, Roy cultivated a work ethic that he later modeled for his family. Serving others was Roy’s God-given gift, which included the Boy Scouts, Hanover Presbyterian Church, Hanover Volunteer Fire Department (52 years), and countless family and friends who needed something fixed, built or maintained. He worked for 29 years at J&L Steel, Aliquippa Works. Continue reading
