Arlene R. Wasson – Hookstown

Arlene R. Wasson, 65, of Hookstown (Greene Twp.), died Saturday morning, June 2, 2018, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family.

Born April 27, 1953, in Confluence, Pa., a daughter of the late Martin G. and Hazel M. (Lyons) Nichols, she was a retired accountant having worked for the Yoder Electrical Co. of Jerome, and the Beaver Women’s Shelter.  She was a member of the Mill Creek Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Hookstown. She was a foster mother for years, but her joy was being with her grandchildren, traveling, camping and cruising. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James F. Wasson III, May 16, 2015, and one sister, Irma Miller.

Surviving are her children and spouses, Lisa Maurer, Tarrs, Pa.; Jamey Burnworth II, Rockwood; Dianne and Chris Stelle, Hooversville; James IV and Bonnie Wasson, Hookstown; and Melissa and Kevin Rice, Hookstown; her foster son, Jimmy Mostoller, Quecreek; five brothers and one sister; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild on the way. 

Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050, Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  Everyone is asked to meet at the Mill Creek Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Hookstown, 5005 Rte. 151, Hookstown, PA 15050, where her services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with her pastor the Rev. Harper Brady officiating. 

She will be laid to rest in the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Georgetown.

Memorials in her name can be made, if desired, to the Mill Creek EPC, of Hookstown.
