Michael J. McCoy – New Cumberland

With sad and heavy hearts, we the family of Michael J. McCoy announce his sudden passing on Monday morning December 28, 2020, at his New Cumberland residence at the age of 48. Mike was born July 26, 1972, in Aliquippa, a beloved son of Tim and Donna (Fryer) McCoy of New Cumberland.

Mike was working as a maintenance foreman at the Bruce Mansfield Plant Shippingport for 20 years, he attended the Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church of Aliquippa and the Westminster Presbyterian church of Chester with his wife Sunny. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. In the summer he could be found lounging in the pool, where he often hosted family and friends, cooking on the grill serving up smoked meats and deer jerky for all to enjoy. Nothing compared to the love he had for family and friends then the love they had for him. With his loving heart of gold, Mike was a loving husband, father and son.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife of 25 years Sunny D. (Hughes) McCoy whom he wed on October 7, 1995, his cherished sons Jacob Michael McCoy and Ty D. McCoy both at home, his brothers are Matthew A. (Beth) McCoy of Georgetown and Andrew L. McCoy of Clinton and his in laws Norman H. and Sara (Brown) Hughes of East Liverpool.

Family and friends are welcome to call Wednesday December 30, 2020, at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME 447 Pine St. Hookstown, Pa. 15050 from 2pm until the time of his service at 6 pm. The Rev. Kevin Neal of Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church Aliquippa and the Rev. Trina Lewis of the Westminster Presbyterian Church Chester will officiate. Cremation will follow.

The family asks that visits be brief, masks be worn and to practice social distancing.
