Ralph W. Heinlein Sr. – Aliquippa (Independence Twp.)

Ralph W. Heinlein Sr., 85, of Aliquippa (Independence Twp.), died Tuesday, April 7, 2020.

Born July 7, 1934, in Aliquippa, he was the last surviving child born to the late John F. and Vina Mae (Woodfield) Heinlein.

He was a retired mechanic, having worked in the heavy equipment industry. He was a very active member of the Mount Olivet EPC. He enjoyed farming and was a member of the Southside Senior Association and the Beaver Valley Antique Tractor Association.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Heinlein and a sister, Eva Grace Brunton.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, June E. (McElhaney) Heinlein whom he married April 7, 1958, and his children and their spouses, Ellen Heinlein of Hookstown, Pam and Harry Shane of Clinton, Ralph W. Jr. and Tracey Heinlein of Hookstown and Ken and Terri Heinlein of Georgetown. He was the grandfather of eight, Samantha, Marissa, Emily, Danielle, Ashley, Amanda, Kyle, and the late Jason and great grandfather of fifteen, Jed, Finley, Arlo, Frankie, Caleb, Travis, Josie, Jessie, Wade, Julianna, Henley, Mia, Letti, Hunter and Owen.

Due to current conditions, services were private and conducted by his pastor, Reverend Kevin Neal of the Mount Olivet EPC Aliquippa.

He was laid to rest in the Mt. Olivet EPC Cemetery.

Memorials in his name can be made to the Mt. Olivet Memorial Fund or to one’s favorite charity.

The family would like to thank the staff at 4 East in the Brighton Wellness and Rehabilitation Center for their care and compassion during his stay there.
