Lydia E. (Bootsie) Price – Clinton (Hanover Twp.)

Lydia E. (Bootsie) Price, 78, of Clinton (Hanover Twp.), died Sunday morning, October 24, 2021, while a resident at Tapestry Senior Living in Moon Twp.. Born April 5, 1943, in Charleston S.C., she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Lydia (Haselden) Moseley. A homemaker, Bootsie
had also worked as an Admissions Coordinator at Friendship Ridge for over 30 years and was a member of the Hanover Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 and a half years, Charles O. Price, who passed on September 4, 2017, and her step father Israel Fogle. Continue reading

Donald Lloyd Boden Sr. – Clinton (Hanover Twp.)

Donald Lloyd Boden Sr., 82, of Clinton (Hanover Twp.), passed peacefully, Sunday afternoon, October 24, 2021, in the comfort of his home with family by his side. Born July 27, 1939, in Rockwood, Pa. He was a son of the late Lloyd and Carrie (Hileman) Boden. Mr. Boden had worked as a maintenance supervisor at the Pittsburgh International Airport, until his retirement. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Donald Boden Jr., and a sister Nancy Norman.

Surviving are his wife of 18 years, Karen R. (Gray) Boden, whom he married on May 3, 2003, his children Debbie (Jeff) Wilbert and James Boden. Brother of Audrey Dewell and Peggy Shumate. Grandfather of 4, Tiffany, Jessica, Kali and the late Chad. Great-grandfather of 3, Rose, Grant and Layla. Continue reading

Kenneth William Shank – Georgetown (Hanover Twp.)

Kenneth William Shank, Sr, 84, of Georgetown (Hanover Twp.), died peacefully in the comfort of his home on Sunday morning, October 17, 2021. Born September 20, 1937, in Apollo, he was a son of the late Harold Vincent and Eleanor (Smith) Shank. Ken had worked as a steel worker at Crucible steel, until his retirement in 1982. An avid NHRA drag racing fan who loved anything involving the great outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, he loved flying with his nephew Carl and fixing airplanes along with anything that was broken. He was not afraid to get into anything.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Sonny, Ronald, Jimmy and Buddy Shank and a sister Bonnie Brucker. Continue reading

Judie L. Barr – Shippingport

Judie L. Barr, 74, of Shippingport, died unexpectedly on Saturday morning, October 16, 2021, at UPMC-Presbyterian Hospital; Pittsburgh.

Born June 1, 1947, in Rochester, she was a daughter of the late Wallace and Mabel “Chood” (Danser) Maier. A homemaker, Judie was a member of the Green Valley United Methodist Church where she was very active. Her life was all about her grandchildren, which her life revolved around. Continue reading

Doris E. Frazier – Georgetown (Hanover Twp.)

Doris E. Frazier, 93, of Georgetown (Hanover Twp.) died peacefully in the comfort of her home on Thursday morning, October 14, 2021. Born December 1, 1927 in Massillon, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Cecil A. and Marguerite P. (Bearden) Ryan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Loyd J. Frazier on November 9, 2011, her son Gary L. Frazier on May 7, 2015, a brother Robert Ryan and a sister Elyse Daugherty. Continue reading

Trace Lamar Wimberly, of Hookstown, Pennsylvania, was born still on October 11, 2021, at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

He is proceeded in death by his brother, Joseph Shannan Wimberly; great paternal grandmother Dorothy Wallace Moak; and great maternal grandparents, Richard Ray and Katie Joe Sasser Moak. Continue reading

Nora Belle (Moncrief) King – Monaca (Potter Twp.)

Nora Belle (Moncrief) King, 83, of Monaca (Potter Twp.), passed peacefully Monday morning, October 11, 2021, at Heritage Valley Beaver. Born November 5, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Andrew McClelland and Ora Alice (Rogers) Moncrief. A graduate of New Cumberland High School, Nora’s passion was her children, so much so she continued working at Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church’s daycare till the age of 81.

An avid Steelers fan, a good cup of coffee and a puzzle book was how she spent the afternoon. You could always find her playing with the grand and great-grandbabies, as they were her world. Nora loved her family and will be remembered as a selfless wife and mother who always had a smile even when things were tough. She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Ora Lynn King-Riley, Ruth Ann (William) Norman, Jennifer (Brian) Lauck and Janelle King and Scott. A special daughter, Misty Brown. Eight grandchildren Ashlee (Kevin) Mason, Brandyn (Olga) Farrow, James Edward Riley, Jordan (Stephanie) Farrow, Marc-Anthony Riley and Victoria Jacobs, Gary and Giovanni Crivelli and Isaiah Leasha, great grandmother of Logan, Reagan, Jacob, Gabe, Mason, Liam, Marc-Anthony and Novalee. Virginia Dilts – Georgetown

Virginia Dilts, 82, of Georgetown, PA. passed suddenly, Saturday, October 2, 2021, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born, February 13, 1939, in Heilwood, PA., she was a daughter of the late Mike and Anna Marie Kislok Gima.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David M. Dilts Sr.; daughter, Brenda Dilts and Virginia’s seven siblings.

Virginia spent most  of her life as a homemaker, raising her children. She was known to be very energetic and full of life and everyone loved her. She enjoyed helping others in need and especially loved riding her John Deer Tractor. Virginia was known for being “Wanda the Witch” at Hozak Farm.  She was a member of the Shippingport Senior Citizen group and she volunteered working the clothes closet. Continue reading

Hannah Searight – Hookstown

Hannah Searight, 18, passed unexpectedly, Friday, October 1, 2021.

Born, October 8, 2002, in Beaver, PA., beloved daughter of, Jamie Bowen and her husband Eric of Hookstown and Scott Searight and his fiancé, Iva Mumaw of Calcutta.

Hannah was preceded in death by her grandmother, Johanna McBride and by her great grandparents, Polly Whitehead, Lawrence and Kitty Searight, Joseph and Kathryn Snyder and Carl and Jean Morris.

Hannah was a graduate of Southside High School Class of 2021. She was currently attending CCBC and working at the Pittsburgh International Airport.
