Michael J. McCoy – New Cumberland

With sad and heavy hearts, we the family of Michael J. McCoy announce his sudden passing on Monday morning December 28, 2020, at his New Cumberland residence at the age of 48. Mike was born July 26, 1972, in Aliquippa, a beloved son of Tim and Donna (Fryer) McCoy of New Cumberland.

Mike was working as a maintenance foreman at the Bruce Mansfield Plant Shippingport for 20 years, he attended the Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church of Aliquippa and the Westminster Presbyterian church of Chester with his wife Sunny. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. In the summer he could be found lounging in the pool, where he often hosted family and friends, cooking on the grill serving up smoked meats and deer jerky for all to enjoy. Nothing compared to the love he had for family and friends then the love they had for him. With his loving heart of gold, Mike was a loving husband, father and son. Continue reading

Albert Raymond McDougal – Formerly of Hookstown

Albert Raymond McDougal, 86, formerly of Hookstown died Friday evening December 18, 2020, at the Weirton Medical Center. Born April 29, 1934, in Rachael, W.V., he was a son of the late Glenn and Ethel (Barr) McDougal. Albert had worked as an electrician at St. Joe Lead; Monaca. He was involved with the South Side Athletic boosters, a charter member of the Hanover VFD and was a boy scout leader with troop #412. Mostly he enjoyed his farm and loved working with his horses and cows.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Kathleen McDougal on March 21, 1997, two brothers Harold and William McDougal and a sister Dorothy Riffle.

Donna Lee Matchett – Georgetown (Greene Twp.)

Donna Lee Matchett, 80 of Georgetown (Greene Twp.) died Thursday evening December 17, 2020, at Heritage Valley Beaver. Born October 15, 1940 in Braddock she was a daughter of the late Milo William & Maxine Edith (Shore) Smith. Along with being a homemaker, Donna had worked as a beautician for many years and was also a caregiver, helping those who couldn’t help themselves. She also attended the Mill Creek EPC of Hookstown.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband William S. Matchett on December 9, 2016 and her companion Franklin D. Saunders on June 19, 2020 and a sister Janet May Smith. Continue reading

Robert Lee ‘Bob’ Bailey – Aliquippa (Independence Twp.)

Robert Lee “Bob” Bailey, 75, of Aliquippa (Independence Twp.), died Saturday afternoon, December 12, 2020, at Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Beaver Falls.

Born March 2, 1945, in Burgettstown, he was a son of the late Odd Brooks and Pricilla Florence (Angel) Bailey. Bob had worked with the Independence Twp. Road department before retiring, a member of International operating engineers local # 66 and was a volunteer fireman with the Independence Twp. VFD. Continue reading

Carole J. Jackson – Midland Heights

Carole J. Jackson, 71, of Midland Heights, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening, December 8, 2020, at her Midland residence.

Born October 1, 1949, in East Liverpool, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Charles W. and Dorothy M. (Crevar) Minehart. Carole had worked as a receptionist in the media industry and attended the Hookstown Free Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William David Jackson on June 28, 2009 and a brother, Larry Lee Minehart. Continue reading

Joyce Eileen “Rube” Stewart – Georgetown

Joyce Eileen “Rube” Stewart, 68, of Georgetown, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon, December 2, 2020, with her daughter at her side under the compassionate care of nurses and staff at Good Samaritan Hospice Beaver.

Born April 21, 1952, in East Liverpool, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late William and Barbara Stewart. Rube had worked as a nurse’s aid at Friendship Ridge for 31 years before retiring. Continue reading
