Richard S. Evans – Greene Twp.

Richard S. Evans, 73, of Greene Twp., passed away Friday evening, July 17, 2020, after a brief illness. Born January 12, 1947, in Rochester, Pa., he was a son of the late Michael J. Sr. and Dorothy (Bartosh) Evans.

A graduate of South Side High School class of 1964, he was drafted into the U.S. Army in September 1966. He served our country during the Vietnam conflict where he was wounded during combat by rocket fragments in Edape Nang Vietnam. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in November 1968 and was awarded the Purple Heart. Continue reading

Claude Goodman – Georgetown (Hanover Twp.)

Claude Goodman, 96, of Georgetown (Hanover Twp.), died Friday afternoon, July 17, 2020, in Providence Health Care Beaver Falls.

Born November 23, 1923, in Pikeville, Kentucky, he was the last surviving child born to the late Burch and Vadney (Branham) Goodman. He had worked as a truck driver in the construction industry, retiring from Starvaggi in 1986 (now known as Weirton Ice & Coal Co.) He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. Continue reading

Kenneth R. Reed Sr. – Hookstown (Hanover Twp.)

Kenneth R. Reed Sr., 65, of Hookstown (Hanover Twp.), died Sunday evening, July 12, 2020, in the Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, surrounded by the love of his wife and sons.

Born August 4, 1954, in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was a son of the late Earl and Leona (Wilkinson) Reed. Ken had worked as a contractor in the construction industry along with being the former owner/operator of Reed’s Dairy Farm. He was also a board member at the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Frank Reed, and sisters, Sylvia Ann Meyers, Gloria Kolar, Ivy Reed and Margaret Marie Reed. Continue reading

Michael C. Gamble – Hookstown (Greene Twp.)

Michael C. Gamble, 73 of Hookstown (Greene Twp.) died unexpectedly Saturday evening, July 11, 2020, in his Hookstown residence.

Born August 14, 1946, in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was a son of the late Cramer and Mary (Sovich) Gamble. Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman. Continue reading
