Clarence Terry Berger, 72, of East Liverpool, Ohio, (St. Clair Twp.) died Sunday evening, June 28, 2020, at the Passavant Community Center, Zelienople.

Born May 3, 1948, in Rochester, he was a son of Betty (Ewing) Berger Herron of Aliquippa and the late Clarence Berger Jr. Terry had worked as a VA. Administrator for the U.S. Government and was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. Continue reading

Danne Leroy Marino, 70 of East Moline, Ill. died peacefully Friday, evening, June 26, 2020, in the comfort of his son’s Georgetown home. Born February 5, 1950, in Davinport, Iowa, he was a truck driver and a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Continue reading

Dorothy M. Livada – Burgettstown (formerly of Hookstown)

Dorothy M. Livada, 83, of Burgettstown (formerly of Hookstown), died unexpectedly Sunday morning June 21, 2020, at the Weirton Medical Center.

Born September 10, 1936, in Frankfort Springs, she was a daughter of the late Marshall and Marie (McMillan) Burd. Dorothy had worked as a bookkeeper in the trucking industry and also alongside her late husband, Rudy on the family farm. She was also a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Burgettstown.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Rudy Livada Jr. on May 18, 2015, and a brother and sister-in-law Charles and Nancy Burd. Continue reading

Franklyn D. Saunders – Georgetown (Greene Twp.)

Franklyn D. Saunders, 82, of Georgetown (Greene Twp.), passed peacefully Friday evening, June 19, 2020, in the comfort of his home surrounded by the love of family.

Born February 19, 1938, in Long Branch, Pa., he was the son of the late Carl F. and Blanche E. (Creighton) Saunders. Frank had worked as an electrician in the steel industry. Besides his family, he was most proud of receiving a black belt in Karate and later in life became a caregiver giving life services which he cherished. He will be known for his great sense of humor. Patty G. Skidmore, 60, of Georgetown (Greene Township), quietly passed on Friday morning, June 19, 2020, at Heritage Valley Beaver.

Born April 3, 1960, in Weirton, W.Va., she was the beloved daughter of Dave and Esther (Cain) Anderson, Georgetown.

She had worked as a medical assistant in the healthcare field and attended the Mill Creek EPC of Hookstown. Continue reading

Robert A. Peach – Hookstown (Greene Township)

Robert A. Peach, 73, of Hookstown (Greene Township), died peacefully Friday morning, June 19, 2020, in the comfort of his Hookstown home surrounded by his loved ones.

Born January 23, 1947, in Pittsburgh, son of the late Clifford A. and Dorothea (Erbe) Peach, Robert was a teacher and retired as a principal in the Steel Valley School District after 34 years. He was a ham radio operator who enjoyed motorcycles and loved cars. Continue reading

Margaret (Penny) Perkins Maier – Georgetown

Margaret (Penny) Perkins Maier, 76, died April 30, 2020, at her home in Georgetown, Pa., of natural causes.

Penny married Bob Maier, the love of her life, on February 6, 1965. They raised three daughters and have ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Penny loved horses, dogs, rodeos, music and church. She was longtime member of Mount Nebo Grange and Sewickley Keenagers. Continue reading

Wilma E. Kirsch – Hookstown (Hanover Twp.)

Wilma E. Kirsch, 91, of Hookstown (Hanover Twp.), died Sunday afternoon, June 7, 2020, at Trinity West Hospital, Steubenville, Ohio.

Born May 23, 1929, a daughter of the late James Earl and Anna L. (Sanders) Emory.  A homemaker, Mrs. Kirsch was also a member of the Frankfort Springs United Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Kirsch, February 2009; two sisters, Catherine Sgro and Dorothy Piatt; and a brother, James Emory. Continue reading

Donna P. McCandless, 84, of Beaver, formerly of Shippingport, died Saturday morning, June 6, 2020, in the comfort of her home surrounded by the love of family.

Born April 5, 1936, in Rochester, a daughter of the late George P. Sr. and Grace M. (Smith) Thomas, she was the former owner and operator of a ceramic shop for 22 yrs. and a member of the Green Valley Methodist Church, Shippingport. Continue reading

Sarah E. Halulko, 75 of Georgetown (Hanover Twp.) died peacefully Thursday morning, June 4, 2020, at Heritage Valley Beaver.

Born December 8, 1944, in Blackstone, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Charles Reid and Annie (Berry) Wagoner. Sarah was a homemaker and a 55-year member of the Bethel United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Wayne, Leslie, Herbert and James Wagoner. Continue reading
