Sarah R. (Becky) Scarbro – Chester, W.V.

Sarah R. (Becky) Scarbro 98, a resident of the Orchards at Foxcrest, Chester, W.V. since 2007 passed from this life to be present with her Lord and Savior on May 25, 2019.

She was the third daughter of the late Mont R. and Anna (Shay) McCoy, born May 31, 1920 in Raccoon twp. Beaver County. Becky attended the Crooks and Lower Service one room schools. She graduated from the Aliquippa High School and the Sewickley Hospital School of Nursing. She continued her nursing profession in Florida and Mississippi, while in Biloxi Mississippi she met and married her husband Frank Scarbro and they later moved to Denver Colorado in 1962. Tom Smitsky Jr. – Hookstown (Hanover Twp.)

Tom Smitsky Jr., 79, of Hookstown (Hanover Twp.) passed peacefully Friday morning, May 17, 2019, in the comfort of his home.

Born June 1, 1939, in Bavington, he was the last surviving child born to the late Tom and Rose (Dragnet) Smitsky. He had worked in the construction industry as a laborer, belonging to Local #833, New Brighton. Continue reading

Blaine W. Mott – HOOKSTOWN

Blaine W. Mott, 89, of Hookstown died Tuesday evening, April 30, 2019, in the comfort of his home, surround by the love of his family.

Born February 1 1930, in New Brighton, the last surviving son born to the late George and Elaine (Healey) Mott.

He was one of the founding members of the Hookstown Volunteer Fire Dept. and was the former owner and operator of the Southside Garage. He was also a member of Glasgow Lodge 485 F&AM.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Wayne, George and Edward Mott. Continue reading
