John F. “Jack” Kletzli Jr. – Hookstown

John F. “Jack” Kletzli Jr., 86, of Hookstown, died Monday morning, January 28, 2019, at West Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center, Moon Twp.

Born January 13, 1933, in McDonald, he was a son of the late John F. Sr. and Thelma E. (Best) Kletzli. Jack had worked as a supervisor in the steel industry and was a U.S. Army Veteran serving as a Corporal during the Korean War. Continue reading

Daniel Paul Hartman – Hookstown

Daniel Paul Hartman, 18, left this world to join his heavenly Father on January 26, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family.

Beloved son of Karen Hartman and stepfather, Eric Koehler of Hookstown, Pennsylvania and father, Paul Hartman Jr. of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.

A 2018 graduate of South Side Area School District and Beaver County Career and Technology Center. He started his career as a certified welder and was a member of the American Welding Association. Continue reading

Gretchen M. Morrow – Hookstown (Hanover Township)

Gretchen M. Morrow, 85, went to her Eternal Home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, from the comfort of her daughter’s home.

Born September 25, 1933, in Clinton, Pa., at home, the daughter of the late J. Donald Miller and A. Maye (McCoy) Miller, she was Presbyterian by faith. Gretchen was a retired U.S. Postal Mail Carrier of many years. The only one of her time out of Moon Township Postal Office to know 18 Rural Routes with all her people’s names and house numbers. She loved to play softball, drive stock cars, work on cars, but most of all always being a caring and helping hand to her family and friends. Continue reading

Earl A. Miller – Georgetown (Greene Twp.)

Earl A. Miller, 82, of Georgetown (Greene Twp.), died Wednesday morning, January 23, 2019, at Brighton Wellness and Rehab Center, Brighton Twp.

Born February 11, 1936, in Hookstown, he was a son of the late Lawrence W. and Margaret (Hughes) Miller. He was an avid farmer and collector of International tractors and had worked at the Riverview Cemetery, East Liverpool, Ohio. Continue reading

Michael Jablonski – Georgetown (Hanover Twp.)

Michael Jablonski, Jr., 76, of Georgetown (Hanover Twp.), died Monday January 21, 2019, at Good Samitran Hospice, Beaver.

Born January 16, 1943, in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Michael Sr. and Dorothy (Reed) Jablonski.

Michael worked as a carpenter for much of his life and enjoyed woodworking and organic gardening. Continue reading

Roy H. Conkle – Georgetown (Greene Twp.)

Roy H. Conkle, 89, a lifelong resident of Georgetown, (Greene Twp.) died unexpectedly Sunday morning, January 13, 2019, at his Georgetown residence.

Born November 8, 1929, in Georgetown, the son of the late Robert F. and Alice G. (Pinney) Conkle.

A 1947 Chester High School graduate, an avid farmer, he had worked for Crucible Steel as a supply clerk for over 35 years, retiring in 1982. His hobbies included aviation, owning and flying a Piper Cub and a military training plane. He also enjoyed square dancing. Continue reading

James A. Welch – Hookstown

James A. Welch, 73, of Hookstown, died Sunday afternoon January 13, 2019, in the comfort of his home.

Born April 25, 1945, in Rochester, he was a son of the late John E. and Martha L. (Lance) Welch.

He was the former owner/operator of the Welch Funeral Home in Hookstown, working with his father in the earlier years. A Veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Vietnam War as a SP4. He was also a member of the Hookstown American Legion Post #952. Continue reading

Wilda Marie McCullough – Aliquippa (Raccoon Twp.)

Wilda Marie McCullough, 79, of Aliquippa, Raccoon Twp., died Friday morning, January 11, 2019, at the Brighton Wellness and Rehabilitation Center, Brighton Twp.

Born April 8, 1939, in Indiana, Pa., she was a daughter of the late William Harvey and Pauline (Lingenselter) Black.  She was a member of the New Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, Aliquippa, and had worked as a caregiver in child care.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Scott McCullough. Continue reading

William Lane Ferry Jr. – Aliquippa (Raccoon Township)

William Lane Ferry Jr., 76, a lifelong resident of Raccoon Twp., died Friday, January 11, 2019, at Southwest Veterans Center Pittsburgh.

Born March 7, 1942, in Aliquippa a son of the late William Lane Sr. and Mary (Mycoff) Ferry.

He retired from J&L Steel working as a steelworker. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam. He attended the Community Bible Church in Aliquippa and was an avid farmer who enjoyed running tractors and bull dozers. Continue reading

Earl O. Carver, 79, Georgetown (Greene Township), died Sunday afternoon, January 6, 2019, at the Windsor House St. Mary’s Alzheimer’s Unit, Columbiana Ohio.
