George E. Conkle – Hookstown (Greene Twp.)

George E. Conkle, 69, of Hookstown (Greene Twp.), died Tuesday morning, January 30, 2018, at St. Clair Memorial Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born July 1, 1948, in Sewickley, he was the only child born to the late W. Clayton and Verna (Fike) Conkle. George was a self-employed retired dairy farmer. He had worked for the South Side Garage for over 45 years, driving buses for the South Side School District. He was also a member of the South Side School Board for 21 years, and was a member and past worshipful master of Shippingport Glasgow Lodge No. 485 F&AM. Continue reading

Georges Delourmel – East Liverpool, Ohio (Formerly of Hookstown)

Georges Delourmel, 91, of East Liverpool, Ohio (formerly of Hookstown), died Monday afternoon, January 22, 2018, at the Salem Regional Medical Center.

Born October 24, 1926, in St. Germain Le Vasson, France, he was a son of the late Eugene and Cecil (Carreres) Delourmel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Madeleine Rolande (Motelay) Delourmel, on January 22, 2000. Also predeceased are two brothers and two sisters. Continue reading

Addyson L. Gallippi – Leechburg

Addyson L. Gallippi, 23 months of Leechburg slept into eternity on Sunday afternoon January 14, 2018 while a patient at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Born February 4, 2016 in Sewickley, she was a beloved daughter of Daniell L. (Gallippi) Fleck. Even thou her life was short, she will live on as she was an organ donor…giving life to other terminally ill children. A private viewing and graveside services were held, with Rev. Wilmer J. Olszewski officiating. She was laid to rest beside her grandmother Annette (Short) Gallippi in Mill Creek Hill Cemetery on January 18, 2018. Arrangements by McConnell Funeral Home, Hookstown, PA.

Richard D. Boone – Hookstown (Hanover Township)

Richard D. Boone, 68, of Hookstown (Hanover Twp.) died Thursday morning, January 11, 2018, in the comfort of his home with his family at his side.

Born April 20, 1949, in McKees Rocks, a son of the late Robert M. and Mildred (Ross) Boone, he worked as a laborer at First Energy Sammis Plant in Stratton, Ohio. He was involved in his family, they came first and foremost. He was an Eagle Scout and Scout Master for many years for Pack 496. He helped with many youth teams, coaching Hanover Softball teams and baseball teams along with Southside Youth Football teams. He helped his daughters with softball and basketball and his sons and grandsons with baseball, football and wrestling. He always wanted his children to succeed and do their best. His hobbies were farming and family activities.  Continue reading

Geraldine Marie Potts – Georgetown (Greene Twp.)

Geraldine Marie Potts, 78, of Georgetown (Greene Twp.), died Thursday morning, January 11, 2018, in the comfort of her home, with her family at her side.

Born August 28, 1939, in St. Marys, Pa., she was the beloved daughter of the late Howard and Anne (Bolitski) McClain. A homemaker, Geraldine was an avid crafter until her illness prevented, and she loved working in her flower garden and spending time with her grandchildren. Continue reading

Ronald Scott Hartman Sr. – Hookstown (Frankfort Springs Boro)

Ronald Scott Hartman sr., 83, of Hookstown (Frankfort Springs Boro), died Wednesday evening, January 3, 2018, in the comfort of his home, with his wife and daughters at his side.

Born January 18, 1934, in Muncy, Pa., a son of the late Stanley M. Hartman and Anna M. (Scott) Reeder, Ronald had worked as a pipe inspector at J&L Steel, Aliquippa Works, and after retiring from there, he went on to work for 20 years as a custodian and security guard at South Side School. He loved to sing and enjoyed karaoke. He enjoyed talking to everybody and was an avid sports fan. He was a member of Frankfort Presbyterian Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.  Continue reading
