Robert H. Campbell Jr. – Georgetown (Hanover Township)

Robert H. Campbell Jr., 75, of Georgetown (Hanover Twp.), died unexpectedly Monday afternoon, November 27, 2017, in the comfort of his home.

Born May 10, 1942, in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was a son of the late Robert H. Sr. and Dorothy Marie (Brown) Campbell. He was a retired ER orderly having worked at the Aliquippa Hospital from 1981 to 1999. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served as an MP in Saigon where he was stationed. He was a member of the Hookstown American Legion and was one of the first groups of men to raise the first flag at South Side High School. He lived on his tractor, cutting grass, hauling leaves and so on, and enjoyed playing cards every Saturday with family and friends.  Continue reading

Harry Lee Dykes Jr. – Hookstown (Greene Township)

Harry Lee Dykes Jr., 58, of Hookstown (Greene Township), died unexpectedly on Wednesday evening November 22, 2017, in the Emergency Room of Heritage Valley Beaver. Born November 21, 1959, in New Kensington, he was a son of the late Harry Lee Dykes Sr. and Mary (Mator) Dykes.

He was an assistant manager with Penndrill Manufacturing Co., McKees Rocks.  An avid drag racer, he enjoyed working on his cars with his friends and for years was at the Friendship Raceway, Smithfield, Ohio, every Saturday. Continue reading

Sandra Kay Moore Rybacki – Hookstown (Hanover Twp.)

Sandra Kay Moore Rybacki, 74, of Hookstown (Hanover Twp.), died Wednesday afternoon, November 22, 2017, in UPMC Shadyside. 

Born April 18, 1943, in East Liverpool, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Smith David and Anna Jeanette (Rogers) Hayward. Sandy was a retired beautician having worked out of her home for many years and also retired as a home health nurse. She attended the Hookstown Free Methodist Church and was a member of the Raccoon Women’s Club in the Senior Citizens Group of Shippingport.  Continue reading

Faye S. Pettner – Center Township


Faye S. Pettner, 58, of Monaca (Center Twp.), died unexpectedly Sunday, October 29, 2017, in her home.

Born May 27, 1959, in Rochester, she was a daughter of Blaine M. McMelleon of Center Twp. and the late Margaret E. Griffith McMelleon. A devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, Faye was a “doer” helping others even in death being an organ donor. She worked as a computer programmer with Vesuvius USA for 40 plus years.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Margaret Ann Elizabeth (Strayer) McMelleon; her father-in-law, Frank J. Pettner Sr.; an infant sister, Karen M. McMelleon; a sister, Janet L. Blair; a stepbrother, Shawn M. Bryan, and brother-in-law, Terry D. Pettner. Continue reading
