Brian W. Heizler Sr. – HOOKSTOWN (HANOVER TWP.)

Brian W. Heizler Sr., 75, of Hookstown (Hanover Twp.), died unexpectedly Thursday morning, April 27, 2017, at Heritage Valley Beaver.

Born in Hookstown on March 1, 1942, a son of the late Harold R. Sr. and Gladys Mae (Cowan) Heizler, he had worked as a heavy machine operator at both Dravo Sand & Gravel of Georgetown, and Beaver Valley Slag of Aliquippa. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam Era. His hobbies included fishing and flying ultralights and model planes, and also enjoyed traveling, camping and square dancing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Ronda Webb; a brother, Harold R. Heizler Jr., and a brother-in-law, Merc Digenaro. Continue reading

Bernice C. Martin – MONACA

Bernice C. Martin, 74, of Monaca, formerly of Hookstown, died Monday evening, April 24, 2017, in the care of the staff at Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.

Born February 2, 1943, in Sewickley, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Hirak) Masterson.

James L. Doughty – GEORGETOWN (GREENE TWP.)

James L. Doughty, 82, of Georgetown (Greene Twp.), died in the comfort of his home on Saturday evening, April 8, 2017, with family at his side.

Born April 22, 1934, in Candor, Pa., he was a son of the late Walter V. and Lila V. (Griffith) Doughty. He retired having worked as a steelworker at LTV Aliquippa for 30 years and was a mail carrier until retirement in Georgetown. He was a longtime and faithful member of the Georgetown United Methodist Church. Continue reading
