Michael S. Nola – Georgetown (Greene Twp.)

Michael S. Nola, 71, of Georgetown (Greene Twp.), died unexpectedly Friday evening, January 31, 2020, in the Weirton Medical Center, ER.

Born April 3, 1948, in Hookstown, son of the late Alexander and Martha (Allen) Nola, he worked as a steelworker with ATI and Crucible Steel Companies of Midland. Michael was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Vietnam era. He was Catholic by faith and attended St. Blaise Church, Midland. He enjoyed paranormal research and events belonging to the West Virginia Center for Unexplained Events; Fayette County Big Foot Research Projects; KLM Paranormal; and the Beaver County Center for Unexplained Events.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Alexander William Nola; a daughter, Angela Lynn Nola; a daughter-in-law, Joy Nola; and a brother and sister-in-law, Vincent Alexander and Betty Nola.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Linda Lee (McCloskey) Nola; his children, Michael Stephen Nola II, Ohioville; Candace Marie Nola and her husband, Ben Freeman III, Pittsburgh; sister and brother-in-law, Therese and Michael Passerini, Ohio; six grandchildren, Katrina Lynn Nola, Chelsea Jo Miller, Jacob Michael Mallinder, Ashante Alana Harris, Alexander Kane Nola, and Michael Stephen Nola III; and a great-granddaughter, Lily Mae Mallinder.

Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine Street, Hookstown, PA 15050, on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. where a service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with his friend, the Rev. Wilmer J. Olszewski officiating. Cremation will follow.

Members of the Beaver County Special Unit are asked to meet at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. to conduct military honors.
