Fred “Fritz” Blosat – MCCANDLESS TWP.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our father on Tuesday, January 12, 2016. A 56 year resident of the township of McCandless, following a life well lived at the age of 87. He was born on January 28, 1928, in Trafford, PA. He was the eldest child of the late Ernest and Hilda (Vogel) Blosat; and predeceased by two sisters, Lois Shirey and Virginia Reuter. Husband of the late Margaret “Marge” (Fritsch) Blosat; and the father of the late Marjorie Moore.

Dad enjoyed his crossword puzzles and reading. He coached local little league baseball and played cards with his friends from the Anger Club. He loved being on the fairways playing golf and going to the Rivers Casino with his sons. Dad retired after 58 years of being a milkman for several local dairy farms, most recently Marburger Farm Dairy. After retirement, he worked at Shop & Save for eight years.

Surviving are his beloved sons, Paul, Wayne, Frederick, Ralph, James and Timothy; granddaughter, Kristina (Jon) Reid; and two great-grandchildren, Maggie and Dylan Reid.

Dad’s request was for no visitation. Friends are invited to share in his Funeral Service to be held in the Allegheny County Memorial Park Chapel, 1600 Duncan Ave., Allison Park, PA, on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at 11 a.m.

In memory of Dad, memorials may be directed to the Sisters of St. Joseph, 1020 State St., Baden, PA 15005, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
